We’ll be staying at the beautiful beachfront Anugerah Surf & Dive Resort. This locally owned accommodation is perfectly positioned right in front of the main surf break ‘Besialu’ / T-Land. Wake up amongst the coconut trees, just steps from the ocean, and ease into slow, tropical island living.
Accommodation is in air-conditioned beautiful shared rooms surrounded by lush gardens, with relaxed shared spaces designed for connection, downtime, and post-surf hangs. You’ll also have access to the pool, on-site spa, and massage facilities — perfect for unwinding after long surf sessions.
Everything is set up to keep things easy, comfortable, and close to the ocean so you can fully soak up island life without having to think about anything!
Surf & Ability
The surf at Rote is what makes this place so special — warm tropical water, consistent swell, and a variety of world-classs waves all within easy reach, including the iconic T-Land and surrounding island setups. This retreat is designed for surfers from beginner to advanced levels, however you do need to have had some previous experience on a surfboard (comfortable paddling, standing up, and ready to progress is perfect).
Whether you’re refining your pop-up, building confidence in the line-up, or pushing your surfing to the next level, sessions are fully tailored to meet you where you’re at. There is a strong focus on supportive coaching, progression, and confidence in the water, with in-water guidance and video analysis to help you improve quickly.
There is a wide range of waves in the area, so each day we choose the best spots based on conditions, tides, and group ability — always prioritising fun, safety, and the most enjoyable experience for our girls crew. You will never be pushed into waves outside your comfort zone, and there is absolutely no pressure at any point.
All boards are welcome — longboards, mid-lengths, fish, and shortboards. Board hire is also available onsite, so you don’t need to bring your own if you don’t have one. However, you’re very welcome to bring your own board (or quiver) if you prefer to surf what you’re familiar with.

Heyyy, I’m Sky!
Surfing has always been a huge part of my life - it has shaped my travels, connected me with amazing people, and inspired me to explore untouched places and cultures, just like here on Rote Island. My first visit to this special island was in 2018 with my dad, and I instantly fell in love with the beauty of this place and its people.
I wanted to create something really special - a beautiful experience for like-minded women to connect, travel, and share incredible adventures together. To explore places like remote Indonesia, surf world-class waves, and slow life right down for a moment.
At the heart of it, I want to help girls find their tribe. To create a space where women can genuinely connect, bond, laugh, grow in confidence both in and out of the water, and make lifelong memories together in a safe, fun, and supportive environment.
I’m really passionate about encouraging intentional, slow, and meaningful travel - experiencing the world in a way that feels connected, grounded, and genuinely supports local communities and businesses along the way.
Most importantly, this is about bringing girls together. Creating friendships, shared experiences, and moments you’ll never forget. Your Own Experience
This retreat is designed to be whatever you need it to be - join in on all the surfing and activities, or take things slowly and simply relax and recharge. There’s no pressure, just space to enjoy the experience in a way that feels good for you.
Cancellation & Refunds
If you choose to cancel your booking more than 30 days prior to the retreat start date, any payments made (excluding the non-refundable deposit) may be refunded at SkySurfCo.’s discretion, provided your spot can be filled. If you are unable to attend within 30 days of the retreat start date, your ticket may be transferred to another person, subject to approval. Cancellations made within 30 days of the retreat start date are not eligible for any refund. No refunds or credits will be issued for late arrival, early departure, or missed activities during the retreat.
In the unlikely event that SkySurfCo. must cancel the retreat for any reason, payments made will be refunded in full. SkySurfCo. is not responsible for any additional costs incurred, including flights, transfers, or other travel-related expenses.
NOTE: Comprehensive travel insurance is mandatory for all attendees, and you will not be able to participate in the retreat without valid cover that includes medical, travel disruption, and surf-related activities.

If you're already comfortable paddling, standing up, and ready to progress this is the perfect level to join our trip. Meaning a little bit of surf experience is requires - not suitable for ‘first time’ surfers.
All Levels (Advanced Beginner - Advanced) -
That’s completely okay — many of our guests are first-time solo travellers. It’s one of the most special parts of the experience. The retreat naturally brings together a group of like-minded women, and friendships form quickly through shared surf sessions, meals, and island adventures. You’ll never feel alone unless you want some quiet time — there’s a beautiful balance of connection and personal space.
We also take care to make the entire experience feel smooth, safe, and supported from the moment you book. You’ll have a 1:1 pre-trip call where we go through all travel details, answer your questions, and help you feel fully prepared and confident before you even arrive in Rote.
You’ll also be added to a group chat with all the trip girlys so you can all get to know each other before you even arrive!

No — this is your trip, and you get to choose how you experience it. You’re welcome to join as many or as few surf sessions and activities as you like. Whether you want to be in the water all day or take time to rest, read, and recharge, everything is optional and there is zero pressure.

When in Rote we stay in beautiful Anugerah Resort, tropical accommodation designed for comfort, relaxation. Rooms are shared bedrooms (individual single bed) , each room with a private bathroom and a beautiful balcony overlooking the coconut trees. Bedrooms are air-conditioned and there is daily room cleaning to keep everything fresh and easy while you’re away. Onsite you’ll also find a spa and pool to unwind between surf sessions and island adventures. All meals are cooked daily, fresh and nourishing, so you can simply relax and enjoy your time on retreat.

Once you book your spot, you’ll receive a comprehensive packing list and travel guide. This will include everything from surf essentials to clothing, travel documents, and helpful tips to make your journey as easy as possible. Surfboards are completely optional — if you have your own and love it, definitely bring it along, but if not, you can easily hire one locally in Rote. We’ll also go through everything you need to pack in detail during your 1:1 pre-trip call as soon as you book, so you feel fully prepared and confident before you travel.

We intentionally keep our retreats small to maintain a personal, supportive, and connected atmosphere. This allows for individual attention in the water and a strong sense of community throughout the trip.

The easiest way to reach Rote Island is to fly into Indonesia, either into Denpasar (Bali) or Jakarta, depending on your departure location and flight routes. We recommend staying one night in Bali or Jakarta on arrival to rest and reset after your international journey.
From there, you will take a domestic flight to Kupang. Once you arrive in Kupang, we will meet you there as a group and your retreat experience officially begins. We’ll spend the first night together in a comfortable hotel in Kupang, giving you time to settle in, meet the other girls, and ease into island life.
The following day, we’ll travel together by ferry across to Rote Island, and stay together in Rote for the remainder of the trip.
NOTE: During our pre trip 1:1 call we will guide you through which flights we recommend you book and our recommendations for hotels and taxis before your arrival at the Retreat. This will make your booking process super simple and stress free ! xx

You can secure your place directly through our website . To confirm your booking, only a 25% deposit is required, which locks in your spot on the retreat. Once your deposit is received, your booking is officially secured.
After booking, you will be invoiced for the remaining trip balance. Payment plans are available, so if you would prefer to pay in multiple instalments, just let us know and we can arrange a schedule that works for you.
Please note that deposits are non-refundable, as they are used to secure accommodation, coaching, and logistics for your place on the retreat (please view our payment terms and conditions for further info).

✈️ International & domestic flights & Taxi Transfers
Flights to and from Indonesia (including your international flight into Bali or Jakarta, and your domestic flight to Kupang). Taxis, airport transfers before and after the retreat, and any personal transport outside of the planned group travel (including scooter hire if you choose to explore independently) are not included. However we will provide recommendations of contacts for these services to keep your costs minimal.🧳 Travel insurance (mandatory for attendance)
Comprehensive travel insurance is required for all guests. This ensures you’re fully covered for medical care, travel delays, and any unexpected changes while travelling and surfing in Indonesia.🍽️ Lunches
Lunches are not included, giving you the freedom to explore and enjoy the local cafés and warungs with the group each day. Meals typically cost around $10–$20 NZD, and we eat together as part of the shared experience of exploring Rote Island’s local food culture.🛍️ Personal spending
